Field Superintendent

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a United States citizen, or have a current and valid work permit.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation with proof of insurance.
  • Must have a phone.
  • Must have your own personal tool box, brushes, and hand tools.
  • If hired, you must attend an orientation meeting with the management to review the mission statement, company policies and procedures, and safety policies prior to starting work.

General Requirments:

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of commercial painting experience.
  • Must have experience managing employees.
  • Must have a working knowledge of blueprints and specifications for paint work on a commercial job site.
  • Must have a working knowledge of paint products and materials.
  • Must have a temperament and appearance for successfully handling client service.
  • Must be willing to work in the field when/if necessary.

Job Description: 

Managing Employees - 

  • Maintain employees' compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Keep the general manager informed of any major issues involving employees.
  • Make sure all employees are using and maintaining equipment properly.

 

Time Cards - 

  • Review and approve all time cards on Thursday morning, before they are processed for payroll.
  • When, and if convenient, pick up time cards from job sites on Wednesdays and bring them back to the office.
  • Contact employees about any mistakes or discrepancies on their time cards and reconcile the problems on the card before turning them in for processing.

 

Schedule Projects - 

  • Review the bid and discuss the project with the estimator/project manager.
  • Pick-up a job-file from the project manager that is to be kept on-site with the foreman. The file would include: product MSDS and data sheets, color schedule, room finish schedule, general contractors and superintendents name and numbers.
  • Do a site visit to size up the project. Meet on-site with the project manager when/if necessary.
  • Check with the owner or general contractor to schedule a start date for the project.

 

Project Start-Up - 

  • Order materials for the project and have them delivered to the shop.
  • Make a list of equipment needed for the project so that the shop man and/or foreman can use it to load the equipment they need for the job.
  • Meet the foreman out on the job site, as directed by the project manager, to explain the project to him and introduce him to his customer contact (owner, superintendent, business manager).

 

Work in Progress -

  • Check on the status of projects on a daily basis by a job site visit or by phone with the foreman.
  • Check with our customer contact no less than once a week to maintain customer satisfaction and keep a handle on any issues that the customer may have.
  • Make sure that the job site is supplied with all labor, materials and equipment needed for the job. Dispatch all labor, order all materials and schedule all deliveries accordingly. Check with the foreman regularly for their labor, materials and equipment needs.
  • Notify the project manager of any requests for "extras" and keep track of time and materials for billing purposes on any additional work.

 

Project Close-Out - 

  • Complete a final walk-through with the foreman and our customer contact, if necessary.
  • Write a touch-up list or punch list, if necessary, to be completed by the foreman and a helper if he needs one.
  • Check back with the foreman to verify that all touch-up and punch list items have been completed to the customers' satisfaction.
  • Turn in the job site file to the project manager and review billing and any additional charges for extras.
  • Review and approve final billing with the project manager before the invoice gets mailed out to the customer.

 

Job Safety - 

  • Train all employees on the safe use of equipment whenever necessary.
  • Monitor and be aware of precautions and safe practices on all job sites.
  • Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the office.
  • Hold an annual safety meeting at the shop with all personnel. Review any past accidents and injuries together with the crew. Discuss what went wrong, the cost of the incident and how the accident could have been prevented.

 

General Overview - 

  • Work together with the project manager with regard to current projects, employee relations, customer relations, equipment, rigging and safety.
  • Make sure all jobs have the labor, materials and equipment needed to get the job done.
  • Strive for improvement, both personally and as a team.
  • Make it happen!

 


Painter Foreman

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a United States citizen, or have a current and valid work permit.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation with proof of insurance.
  • Must have a phone.
  • Must have your own personal tool box, brushes and hand tools.
  • If hired, you must attend an orientation meeting with the management to review the mission statement, company policies and procedures and the company safety policy prior to starting work.

General Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of eight years painting experience.
  • Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to handle the following responsibilities.

Job Description:

  • Review your project with our field superintendent and/or our project manager.
  • Pick-up your job file that is to be kept on the job site with you.
  • Load up all equipment that you will need for your project and stock your job.
  • Set up a shop on the job site.
  • Meet with our point of contact for the client or general contractor to determine our requirements and work schedule.
  • Maintain a clean shop and job site.
  • Make sure the job is always stocked and supplied with all materials and equipment needed.
  • Keep track of the hours worked by the crew on time and materials jobs.
  • Make sure all hours that are spent on your job are turned in accurately and on time.
  • Direct daily labor and operations on your projects.
  • See that all equipment on your job site is kept clean and maintained.
  • Communications, Public Relations and Quality Control.
  • Make sure all personnel on your job site wear painter's whites and maintain a professional image and attitude.
  • Make sure that you and all personnel on your job site are performing quality work that meet our standards.
  • Make sure that you and all personnel always have your personal tools with you.
  • Maintain good customer relations on your job site.
  • Keep the field superintendent and the project manager informed about issues that arise on the project.
  • Maintain a safe work place and observe the company safety policies.
  • Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the field superintendent and the office.
  • Look out for the company, get the job done, strive for improvement and make it happen!

 

Painter

Minimum Requirements:

  • If hired, you must attend an orientation meeting with the management to review the mission statement, company policies and procedures and safety policies prior to starting work.

General Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of five years painting experience.
  • Must be able to follow basic rules on the job site.
  • Come to work on time.
  • Always have your personal tools with you.
  • Always wear painter's whites and maintain a professional image (white pants, clean shirt, boots).
  • Turn in your hours accurately and on time.

Job Description:

  • Follow direction by the field superintendent.
  • Follow directions by the foreman.
  • Produce productive, quality work that we can be proud of.
  • Keep a positive attitude with your teammates, the customer and other trades.
  • Use common sense, and follow the company safety policy.
